Once you have decided to join the best windsurfing trip on the planet, you'll receive some pre course info by email, but the basics are here:

Preparation
Windsurfing has a very specific fitness that is difficult to prepare for without time on the water- so the best training is going windsurfing regardless of the wind- planing or non planing. Even if it's just in your garden flipping rigs using my DVD as a guide as to what to practise, this will toughen up your hands and re-ignite your windsurfing muscles.

If you can find time for other ways of getting fit- anything and everything is good for you, especially if it also toughens up your hands.

If you are stuck for ideas and dont mind freaking your family out- pull-ups under the kitchen table and squats are both very good windsurf training.

Windsurf packing
Harness - please bring your own harness. If you have a waste harness, please bring it. Ladies should bring a seat harness.
Harness lines - if you have 30" lines or longer, please bring them although most centres now stock long lines.
Windsurf gear - if you have enough of your own gear, I suggest bringing it. I can fine tune it for you. Please always email me your kit list so we can make the best decision before travel. If you decide to bring it, please download this PDF for travel packing.
Booms- if you own a good carbon boom, then I suggest bringing it even if you are not bringing the rest of your gear. Pls email me.
Wetsuits- please check the venue page details to see if you will need a wetsuit. In general, if you are learning to waterstart, you should bring one.
Buoyancy aids and crash helmets- if these give you confidence to improve waterstarting, or protect your body from impacts, or keep you warmer, then please bring them. Impact vests and helmets are especially good to inspire confidence for forward loops on relavent courses.

Extra packing
Suncream - I use ProSport, it is one of the few suncreams that does not get in my eyes and can handle a tough day in and out of the water. You can order some here.
Gloves - I dont encourage gloves on the water however they should be worn during the Muscle Memory sessions on the beach to best protect your hands.
Superglue - sounds crazy but one of the best forms of hand protection in windsurfing is superglue- it forms a very thin layer of skin that wears off during the day. Be warned- dont grab anything until it's dry, and expect one person in every million to die from anaphylactic shock.
Memory sticks - please bring a USB memory stick of minimum size 2GB so you can receive all the photos in full glossy glory from your week. Please make sure it is Apple Mac compatable.
GoPro - if you'd like your own personal film of you in action during the week, please buy your GoPro here. Comes complete with the necessary windsurfing accessories/ attachments.
Sun protection - please bring a hat, UV rash vest, suncream and if you are really susseptable to burning, please consider bringing some thin wetsuits boots to block out the sun during beach work.
Money - most venues have local ATM machines with exception of Prasonisi and Jeri. Please see your welcome letter for more info.

Windsurfing has a very specific fitness that is difficult to prepare for without time on the water- so the best training is going windsurfing regardless of the wind- planing or non planing. If you can find time for other ways of getting fit- anything and everything is good for you, especially if it also toughens up your hands.

Travel

Airport parking - If you wish to book airport parking in the UK, I recommend the ‘meet and greet’ service that Holiday Extras offer. It allows you to drive to the departures front door, leave your car there and walk straight in- saving you plenty of time and hassle- it's what I always use and is vital for travelling with kit/ heavy bags.
Flying - Drink plenty of water before and during your flights.
To best avoid jet-lag, set your watch to the new destination's time zone as early as possible- (ie when you're at your local airport) and start eating meals in time with the NEW timezone, not your old one.

Full info
Everyone will receive a welcome letter by email specific to each course giving you precise details.
Emergency phone numbers will be included in your welcome letter.
