My local tourist office asked me if I could set a world record for them- doing the most amount of waterspouts in a day, since I live in an area where you can do literally every water sport you can think of all within a few miles of each other. Obviously I said yes, who wouldn't take up the offer to sip champagne on a luxury Sunseeker?
(Yes, this was claimed as a watersport!) Or go wake surfing, Hobie Cat sailing, kayaking, jet skiing, windsurfing, kite surfing, surfing, 50ft catamaran sailing, SUPing, skim boarding, RIB riding, jet boating, dinghy sailing, snorkelling, wake boarding, this list goes on but I've got to say I thought the whole thing was a gimmick. It didn't stop me from doing it but I feel a bit embarrassed about entering the Guinness Book of Records for this! However, on further thought, one has to recognise, only a windsurfer could probably complete so many sports, as to get into windsurfing many participants can already sail and surf. Whilst being a windsurfer, you further your range or watersports skills with kite surfing, wake boarding etc. So, although on the one hand I was embarrassed, on the other it's all good for windsurfing- the event featured on BBC mostly with windsurfing coverage.
