INtuition's Freeride courses at the flat water paradise of Dahab, INtuition DVD's spiritual home, scored good winds in March. The first week set an INtuition record enjoying the company of ten different nationalities, with English, Irish, German, Norwegian, Finish, Estonian, Spanish, Swedish, Kiwi and Greek windsurfers making some very enjoyable evenings and providing cosmopolitan good vibes all week. I just love these courses and it's an honor to be in the company of such a variety of people. We scored wind, and lots of it- far too much on occasion, all week except the very first and last days, making it a great course to develop footstrapping, gybing, waterstarting and radically improving guests stance so they could sail effortlessly even in these toughest conditions. The second week dropped to a mere seven different nationalities, with American and Italians in the mix, with new arrivals from all over Europe. The wind dropped too so after big sail planning sessions in the mornings, we had light wind sessions in the afternoons to develop rig flipping skills for tacking, gibing and freestyling. In the middle so the week the wind kicked in BIG time, increasing until a sandstorm blasted the sunset away with 40 knots plus of insane conditions- no one in Dahab had ever seen winds behave quite like that before. The guests realised how important the light wind sessions had been earlier in the week for improving their gibing and once again Dahab proved to be an awesome windsurfing location and fantastic social holiday. The next INtuition trip to Dahab is Nov 7 2010, currently with some availability. |
